Monet – Our Resident Ray of Sunshine

Our beloved Siberian shepherd, Monet, is far more than a service dog—he represents the heart and soul of Top Tails. With a sunshiny disposition and a near-constant calming presence that steadies even the stormiest of moments, Monet has an "in-your-face" ridiculous manner that makes him Godzilla-sized when it comes to his role across the organisation.

The main function of this dog is as a support animal for autism, where he demonstrates amazing reliability and sensitivity. He is an emotional support dog and a Counselling  dog, providing not just a sounding board for problems but also the type of comforting presence that can help with really tough issues.

But his work doesn't end there, be it guiding, supporting, or just being near, Monet brings out the best in everyone around him. And in everything we do at Top Tails, his pawprint is always close by.

Susan – Our Soothing Soul in Training

Our gentle giant, with a heart as generous as her stature, is Susan. She joined the Top Tails family in 2023 and has made steady progress since then in her specialized training to become a therapy and service dog. Her serene demeanour and loving nature, already providing an astonishing instinct for offing—to those to whom she has been presented—a remarkable amount of comfort and companionship, on her way to becoming a dog whose name will be synonymous with support.

Pablo – The Heir to the Top Tails Throne

Our not-so-little Japanese Shepherd, Pablo, is the latest star to join the Top Tails pack. Yet, at just 1½ years old, he has already established himself as an Assistance Therapy Dog, so that he now proudly follows in the pawprints of our esteemed companion Monet. Under the watchful guidance of Top Tails founders Brian and Monet, Pablo has flourished into a calm and equal parts affectionate, gentle, and wise presence that our society considers him today. And the way he entered into that role was nothing short of how he moves in life—steady, intuitive, and devoted to bringing comfort to the places where he goes. He settled into the team day one and won everybody's heart. His real tail is a brush that paints the air like a Beethoven symphony: if you're ever in doubt as to who's coming down the corridor, just look for the big, bushy Basil Brush tail swishing proudly behind him.

Our Specialisms

Autism Support Dogs

Our Autism Support Dogs provide critical structure, sensory regulation, and emotional support. Whether it’s reducing anxiety in social settings, preventing wandering, or offering deep pressure therapy during meltdowns, our dogs empower individuals with autism to navigate the world with confidence and comfort.

PTSD Assistance Dogs

Trained to support individuals managing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, our dogs recognise early signs of anxiety, interrupt flashbacks or nightmares, and offer a calm, grounding presence. They’re trained to help create space in crowds, offer deep pressure comfort, and gently prompt coping strategies during emotional distress.

ADHD Assistance Dogs

Supporting both children and adults with ADHD, our dogs assist with impulse control, task transitions, and daily routines. Their calm presence can soothe overstimulation, while their engagement helps channel focus and build consistent, healthy habits.

Counsellor Dogs

Our specially trained Counsellor Dogs work alongside mental health professionals to offer gentle, non-intrusive support during therapy sessions. Ideal for trauma survivors, neurodivergent clients, and children, these dogs foster a sense of safety, reduce anxiety, and aid emotional expression—becoming a trusted ally in healing.
